After doing very little exercise for 10 years I wasn't sure if I would enjoy cycling again however your bikes are so easy to ride and comfortable I really enjoyed myself... on the third day I did 30 miles and even thought about doing more!

Suffolk Secrets : 5 nights


   6 and 7 night options available

24 to 32 mile route options available each day (approx). Suitable for slightly more experienced cyclists.

Day 1 : Arrive at our base in Diss and stay in an excellent local hotel or luxury B & B, if time permits explore Lopham Fen Nature Reserve, home of the giant Raft Spider!

Day 2 : Heading South West towards Bury St Edmunds you cycle through a landscape of picturesque villages and romantic windmills, options to visit Bressingham Gardens and Steam Museum or sample some fine English wines and excellent food at Wyken Hall Vineyard. The afternoon ride takes you towards the bustling medieval market town of Bury St Edmunds where you can explore the Abbey, Museums and Art Galleries. Overnight stay near Bury St Edmunds in a small country hotel.

Day 3 : Before heading for the famous Tudor village of Lavenham, featured in numerous period films, you have the option of visiting Ickworth House an extraordinary National Trust property with oval-shaped house and Capability Brown designed parkland. Afternoon ride options take in the historic villages of Clare and Cavendish before an evening stop-over in a lovely country hotel.       

Day 4 : Turning East towards Woodbridge and the coast, you take the scenic route through the best of the Suffolk countryside before joining National Cycle Route 1 at Elmsett. Options to explore the historic wool town of Hadleigh or venture into Ipswich by using the Cycle and Ride facilities on the outskirts of town! Overnight in the lovely riverside town of Woodbridge.

Day 5 : Start the day by exploring the famous Sutton Hoo burial site and view the Anglo-Saxon treasures in the modern exhibition centre. Continue through Rendlesham Forest towards Orford, a charming coastal village with Bird Sanctuary, Shingle Spit and one of the best preserved castle keeps in the country. Further options to visit the Arts Centre at Snape Maltings before heading to Framlingham for your evening stop-over.

Day 6 : Return to Diss through the rolling countryside of North Suffolk, options to explore the amazing timber architecture of Wingfield College or visit the WWII Memorial Museum at Thorpe Abbotts.
